How to dress for the Christmas season

December is a very busy month – Christmas is coming and there is so much to do but also much to look forward to – office parties, festive catch-up with friends, shopping and of course, Christmas Day itself.

The day-to-night dilemma
If you’re going from work to a party, it’s easy to take your day look into the evening. For example, wear a simple dress during the day with tights and boots then take it into evening, add statement earrings, a studded leather belt, sandals and a leather jacket or blazer.

Any of these dresses would work brilliant for day-to-night dressing.

If you’re more a jeans girl, it’s still easy to take them into the night! Add a pair of fancy shoes and a silky blouse or embellished jumper for that added bit of va-va-voom.

One thing guaranteed to make any outfit party ready, is sequins. Sequins, glitter and all things metallic have been a big trend this autumn/winter and this is definitely the time to have fun and allow your personality to shine through with a sparkle – or several!

Making up isn’t hard to do
There’s not always time to re-do your makeup during the busy festive season, especially if you’re rushing off to the office Christmas party from work.

A mineral based foundation is simple and easy to rebalance your base. Alternatively, a good concealer with help freshen up your morning base. A light diffusing concealer is good to help cover up any black bags under your eyes.

A kohl pencil will help take your eyes from so-so to smoking hot, then pop on some highlighter across your cheekbones, add natural coloured blusher and a nude coloured lip gloss and you’re ready to go. For a more dramatic look, choose a stronger coloured lipstick – you can’t go wrong with red at Christmas.

Festive fashion for the big day
Christmas Day is a very special day for many difference reasons. While you want to look stylish, you also want to be comfortable – especially after that big Christmas dinner.

I’d recommend investing in a dress – one that doesn’t cling and will hide your turkey tummy! There are lots in the high street from shirt dresses to gorgeous soft woollen ones. The majority have no fixed waistbands so are really comfortable, and teamed with a gorgeous piece of jewellery you will look amazing. Finish off the look with a pair of ankle boots – job done!
