Product Partner spotlight – Kate Taylor
Each week we put the spotlight on one of our Product Partners so they can share their stories and inspiration behind their business. We will also be asking them a few questions around their challenges and successes.
This week we meet Kate Taylor, a life design & empowerment coach, Master NLP Practitioner & Clinical Hypnotherapist who’s mission in life is to help women connect to their fullest potential so that they can live a BIG, BOLD & BEAUTIFUL life on their own terms.
Kate’s passion for what she does, how she helps women get the most from life and her clever little creation for those that want to dip their toe into life coaching, is what sets Kate apart.
Life Coach In A Box – Practical Magic is my blended melting pot of goodness, which combines my expertise and extensive learning in the fields of coaching, NLP, mindfulness, psychology and neuroscience along with a little rock n’ roll.
I understand that not everyone can work directly with a life coach, or even have one on tap when they need one, so I created the Practical Magic Activation Deck as a life coach in a box so that everyone could have access to unlocking their inner wisdom any time of day or night. The Practical Magic Activation Deck is a high vibe and design-led tool which connects to instant and accessible wisdom delivered in a simple and pragmatic way. It draws from a wide range of proven modalities and centuries of thought — including practical life coaching prompts, NLP, creative mindfulness, visualisation and breathing exercises, as well as movement practices, to help you connect both mind and body, and create pragmatic, practical change. It’s like having a personal trainer for mind, body and soul.

Our quick Q&A…
1. What was your ‘on fire’ spark that made you start your business?
The spark that lit the fire of my business was back in my previous life working in the advertising industry. I worked with incredibly talented women both in my teams, and amongst my clients, but what I saw time and time again was women who wanted so much for their lives and their careers, but didn’t feel they had the confidence to take up their space, or the power to use their voice to be heard.
It was also a time my life where I was questioning ever-y-thing from my career path, my relationships, my purpose, who I was here to help, my personal journey and more. There was no amount of white wine could answer the existential questions that would keep me awake at night. A friend suggested I go and see a coach to help me get clear on the constant mind-soup that was taking over my life. It was such a cathartic experience for me that I forged a new path in coaching myself to help other women become empowered and aligned with who they really are, and what they are here to do.
2. What has been your biggest challenge to date and how did you overcome this?
My biggest challenges have always been my biggest breakthroughs. I lost my mum and dad two years apart – my mum very suddenly and as a result of cancer of the adrenal glands, which I relate to a stress-filled life. Whilst these were some of the hardest years of my life, I also create them as being some of my most formative in helping other people to cherish self care, wellbeing and empowerment as something that is fundamental to their health and living a full life. I am full of gratitude every day for the lessons in the loss which have helped me become mission focussed to help others live a life on their own terms.
3. What has been your proudest moment?
Oh my goodness, I have so many; the work that I do and the clients I work with make me proud every day. Seeing them stepping up and out of their comfort zones into being full them and lighting up their worlds rocks my freaking world.
If I had to pick proudest moments, I’m going to have to pick two:
The first was the moment I received my first delivery of the Practical Magic Activation Deck, having successfully raised the money needed to bring them into production from a crowdfunding campaign in 2018. I was like a kid finally getting my hands on something that was only a pipedream 6 months previously.
The second was the closing ceremony at first ever The Awakening – my festival of wellbeing, self care and connection on the Isle of Wight – last year. As we closed off the day with a beautifully moving and deep spoken word recital, I looked around at everyone who had come to spend the time donning their own oxygen mask, and I felt such a huge sense of mission and pride. That realisation that I had produced an event to help other people, and as a homage to my parents, and helping people come home to their own wellbeing and self care was entirely humbling. There were a lot of fat happy tears.
4. What advice would you tell yourself if you could go back to the start?
Great question. I would tell myself to take bigger, bolder steps much earlier on, and get a strategic and mindset mentor, like stat! I find reflecting on the journey so incredibly important to see just how far we’ve come. I realise looking back that my journey through entrepreneurship wouldn’t have happened without support and community, and I am so grateful for both.
5. Share a quote about your business or life that you stand by?
My favourite ever quote, and something that has always been with me for as long as I can remember is ‘Life is someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to’ I always makes sure I have all three in my life at all times.
6. What is your favourite product from your range?
Well, it has the be the Practical Magic Activation Deck. It’s a genius piece of kit, if I do say so myself. It’s a life coach in a box, which will help you get to any answers you might be struggling to find on your own. I still to this day haven’t seen anything else like it out there. The blend of practical coaching tools, alongside visualisations, meditations, movement exercises, journalling prompts, and empowerment exercises is like having me in your pocket!
I love the way people find so many uses for it; from using it as a daily moment to reflect in, to opening up conversations with their partners, or at work, through to getting a group of friends together to sit in circle and draw cards with each other. It makes me light up when people share just what the cards have unlocked for them
