Redefining work for women at every age
I am passionate about ensuring that women of ALL ages have the right to be treated fairly, equally and with respect in the workplace.
A broad topic that comes up time and time again is the world of work for women, and the landscape we have today has changed radically compared to even just a generation ago. Career paths are no longer linear; the way in which we work and our needs have changed, whether this is a work/life balance, returning to work, career changes, the extended retirement age or the gender pay gap.
I believe that flexible working is the answer and that until this is commonplace, women will have less choice and continue to be held back within in their primarily chosen careers.
Flexibility within the workplace must be put in place for EVERY woman – regardless of age or career level – enabling us to progress our careers, to earn higher salaries and to achieve equilibrium in the work/life balance.
Women are opting for roles that will fit around their families – demonstrated by the 427,000 women in the UK who are currently taking a career break, after which more than half will return to lower skilled, part-time roles.

The results of this survey will be presented to Amber Rudd, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, who is heading up a Government review of its Flexible Working Policy, and will form part of our #MindTheGap movement. We will lobby to make Flexible Working a reality in the UK, enabling us to achieve the careers and salaries that we deserve free from gender disparity.
